Lions fans in NYC have had enough: They’re creating their own bar for 2023-24
Somehow, some way, the Detroit Lions haven’t had an official bar in New York City since Mercury Bar East permanently closed.
Redditors hope to change that this year.
Users in the r/detroitlions subreddit have valiantly declared Bailey’s Corner Pub the gameday home of Lions nation in the Big Apple.
“I know, God forbid another thread about NYC Lions bars. But I’m here to announce that we have a home!” posted u/Witty_Map_6268. “I am happy to share that Bailey’s Corner Pub in the Upper East Side (1607 York Ave, New York, NY 10028) has agreed to show Detroit Lions games every week of the regular season!”
The location will share the space with Jets fans and Formula One watchers, but hey, this is progress. More than 150 users upvoted the message and 24 commented.
Since it’s such a new watch location, it might be a slow start for Lions fans at Bailey’s, but this is as legitimate of an effort to establish a Lions bar in NYC as I’ve seen.
Cheers, u/Witty_Map_6268 and let’s make Bailey’s the play.
