Best bars to watch Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets in NYC

Bills-Jets in primetime. On Aaron Rodgers' debut. The New York City bar scene couldn't be more ready.

September 8, 2023

The New York City bar scene almost couldn’t ask for a better Week 1 matchup than primetime Bills-Jets in primetime.

This Monday Night Football tilt already features two of the city’s biggest NFL fanbases, but it gets some added juice from Aaron Rodgers’ debut in Jets green.

Rodgers’ arrival in New York has put the Jets hype to a fever pitch, and “Hard Knocks” didn’t do anything to relieve that. Meanwhile, the Bills see some have some unfinished business themselves after three straight division titles followed by three straight exits in the AFC playoffs.

The game kicks off at MetLife Stadium in North Jersey, but there will be dozens – if not, hundreds – of bars to watch with fellow fans, be it Bills Mafia or Jets nation. Here are some of the best.

Buffalo Bills bars

Bills Mafia travels as well as any fanbase in the NFL, and that certainly applies to New York. They boast 11 verified game watch bars on the 2nd Home Sports Map.

New York Jets bars

Being in New York City, any number of bars could be a good fit for a Jets fan on gameday. Here are a handful that stuck out to us.

Shades of Green

Shades of Green will host the New York New York Jets Meetup Group on gamedays for the 2023 season.

Bailey’s Corner Pub

Jets fans looking to hit Bailey’s in 2023 could be greeted by an infiltration of Lions fans, who have established the pub as their 2023 home base, but the bar insists it will still play every Jets game.

1607 York Ave, New York, NY 10028

(212) 650-1341

Mustang Harry’s

A good all-around for sports watching, Mustang Harry’s owner Patrick Mulcahy takes pride in being a Jets bar in Manhattan. The bar is also the home of NYC Ravens fans, so you may see some purple and black as well.

Horseshoe Tavern

Horseshoe Tavern’s NFL Sundays feel like “a continuation of Saturday night,” the bar told 2nd Home Sports. The bar often draws a full house on Sundays, with a line out the door starting at 11:45 a.m.

Horseshoe hosts giveaways as well, and not for just a koozie or a keychain. They’ll give out TVs, jerseys, golf bags and more.

Unclear if a Monday night brings quite the same energy as an NFL Sunday at Horseshoe, but with Aaron Rodgers’ debut going on, I wouldn’t be surprised.
